Both Ultrasonic and inertia techniques are used to constantly track the position and orientation of the Head Tracker and the Wand. The Heading tracking device can be attached to shutter glasses. The person wearing the Head Tracking device controls the viewpoint of the Virtual Environment. They can look around the corner of an object, step behind it, look underneath it, or anything else that they could do in real life.

The Wand serves as the primary interface device to the Virtual Environment. This Wand allows the user to navigate (using the joystick in the middle) within the Virtual Environment or interact with the object within the environment through the push buttons.
