The Prism is the primary computer that provides the computational power to run the ReaCTor
. It controls and coordinates everything that happens, ensuring that all of the complex pieces of the ReaCTor work together correctly. It is housed in a secured room next to the ReaCTor. The heart of the Prism consists of 8 Intel Itanium 2 processors (1.5GHz) with a 16 Gb shared memory.
SGI O2 User Terminal - Computer System
There is a O2 terminal within the ReaCTor room, which is used to interface with the Prism system. It can also be used to test applications that require collaboration between Desktop Users and the Users in the ReaCTor.
